Security Operators
There are a variety of factors that we look for in someone to fill the role
of a security operator or security support person. These have various weights
depending upon the shift, the opening, our needs at the time.
Experience:
Directly as a security
operator, a dispatcher, phone personnel, phone work and experience. Our
current Security Operators range in experience as an emergency security
operator from one year's experience to 25 years. Our average operator
has over 10 years experience.
Phone voice: Tone, how you come
across on the phone, attitude.
Communication skills: Ability to
listen carefully, hear clearly, speak clearly, interpret and clarify issues,
answer questions, and to read, understand, and respond to data and written
instructions. Ability to communicate with a wide range of people and
personalities.
Computer skills: Basic experience
and familiarity with computers, data screens, keyboard, etc.
Dependability and Flexibility:
To
work as scheduled, and to respond to changing schedules.
Background: Must be able to pass a
background check, have no major applicable felonies, drug free, etc. This is a
security operation and these checks and a clean background are important to our
operational integrity. If multiple tests are required, these will be paid for by
ARC.
